It’s been longer than we wanted since our last blog post. This isn’t for lack of exciting things to share. Life is busy and things are happening quickly. Brewery equipment is beginning to arrive, with new pieces of the puzzle coming almost every day.
Last week, our serving tanks finally made it. This was our first large delivery of equipment. We unloaded 8 serving tanks, HLT (hot liquor tank) and filter. It was a busy day.
The driver, Phil, was a great help.
Phil, Charles, and I managed to get everything off the truck without a forklift, thanks to the liftgate.
Charles and I were able to muscle everything into the building.
Our lenticular filter is taller than Charles.
You can get a good look at a brite tank by sticking your head up its manhole, but wouldn’t you rather just take the brewer’s word for it? Really, I’m checking the welds and looking for dings, dents, and cracks. These tanks have come a long distance to get here, by boat, train and truck.
Charles is in a forest of stainless steel.
You’re not seeing double. It’s always a great idea to have a backup pump. These 1hp Thomsen pumps came yesterday. I wired them and mounted them on some cheap carts. We’re still pinching pennies and doing our own work wherever we can.
Much more to come.
